Metro Pulse calls Laura "Knoxville's Story Teller"

Since Laura Still moved to Knoxville at age 20, she’s been busy. Sh's worked as a dental hygienist (and still temps on occasion), a retail store employee, a volunteer Sunday school teacher, a stage manager for Shakespeare on the Square, a tour guide and, most importantly, a writer, all while raising two sons. She's also published a book of Bible-themed plays for grade school children (which she spent five years writing for her Sunday school class) and a collection of her poetry. . . read more

Laura in the News

Holston Hills woman gives downtown walking tours
Laura Still wants to tell you a story.
In fact, she can tell you a lot of them. Stories about Knoxville's early years. Stories about its gunfights. Stories about the city's writers and ghosts and just about anything else you can imagine.
"The stories that are here are just so cool, and most people have no idea," the Holston Hills woman said. That's why she formed Knoxville Walking Tours, based on the decades-long research of her friend Jack Neely, a local historian, author and Metro Pulse associate editor. "People need stories," she said. "They help us connect to the past."

New Gunslinger Tour

Laura has added a 'gunslingers' tour at Knoxville Walking Tours. After bringing history alive in her guided tour series, she figures it's time to gun some of it down in the streets of downtown Knoxville. Family feuds and wanted outlaws. You'll relive the days when Knoxville was the wild west and Gay Street was the OK Corral.
